Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

This is placeholder text, not a legal document.

It describes how TrivTrak actually behaves, so it is useful to read — but it has not been written or reviewed by anyone qualified to write one of these. Replace it before the service is offered to the public.

What TrivTrak is

TrivTrak runs live pub-trivia games. Venues and their hosts use it to run game nights; players use it to join a team, answer rounds and follow the scoreboard.

Playing without an account

You can play as a guest. A guest is a signed cookie for one game that lasts twelve hours — there is no account behind it, and nothing you do as a guest is kept against a name after the night ends beyond your team's scores.

If you create an account during a game, the seat you already took moves to it, so you stay on the same team and the roster still counts you once.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Sessions last seven days and refresh while you are using the app. Completing a password reset, or using “sign out everywhere”, ends every other session on the account.

Host and administrator access is granted by the venue's operator, not by signing up.

Scores and corrections

Hosts grade answers and may correct them. Scores are kept as an append-only record: a correction is added alongside the original rather than replacing it, so a board can always explain how it got to the number it shows. The host's decision on a round is final.

Behaviour

Team names are typed by players and appear on screens in a public room, including a venue's television. Venues may remove a team or a name at their discretion.

Availability

TrivTrak is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that a game night will be free of interruption, and nothing here creates liability for a game that could not be completed.
